Poptastic โ Bar Pop
Every Friday from 9pmBar Pop, Canal Street
Poptastic has been running at Bar Pop on Canal Street for well over a decade, making it one of the most consistent and beloved nights in Manchester's gay scene. The music is indie-leaning pop โ think guilty pleasures, cult anthems and the kind of songs that make a room full of strangers sing together. The bar is compact, the crowd is warm, and the atmosphere is decidedly un-serious in the best way. Friday nights are when it peaks. A proper Gay Village institution.

Sparkle Weekend
July (usually second weekend)Sackville Gardens, Manchester
Sparkle is held every July in Sackville Gardens, right in the heart of Manchester's Gay Village, and it is one of the most welcoming events in the city's calendar. Free to attend, it draws thousands of people across the weekend for live performances, market stalls, DJs and a genuine sense of community celebration. The tone is warm, inclusive and resolutely non-commercial. Whether you are trans, an ally, or just looking for a good time in the Village, Sparkle is worth being there for.
